On August 14-15, an open tournament in Checkers was held among veterans in the chess club "Nona", in which 24 female and 16 male veterans participated. At the final stage, the leadership of the Batumi Boulevard LEPL awarded the winners with certificates of honor and symbolic gifts. This tournament is traditionally held every year and is dedicated to the memory of those who died in the August War.
