In the frameworks of "Blue Flag" project, director of LEPL Batumi Boulevard Irakli Jincharadze has visited Ukraine, namely the coastal cities of Odessa district, where several coastal stripes were granted status of the Blue flag. The representative of Property Management Service of Batumi Boulevard, Davit Gamrekelashvili and Deputy Head of the Department of Tourism and Resorts of Adjara, Jaba Beridze were visited Ukraine together with Irakli Jincharadze.
Irakli Jincharadze held meetings with the heads of the NGOs and government agencies involved in the implementation of the international project.
The mayor of Chornomorsk (Illichivsk), Valery Khmelnik personally hosted the representatives of Adjara. The Ukrainian side has expressed the willingness to share with Georgians the experience of the "Blue flag" project.
"Sharing the experience of the Blue flag on the Black Sea and introduction of preliminary preparatory works is especially important for us and for Batumi Boulevard, which is already actively involved in this international project.
As you know, the "Blue Flag" is the most popular project of Environmental Education Foundation (FEE) in tourism sfere. Recommendations, specially for Batumi, have already been developed, after consideration of which we shall see the blue flag on the Boulevard coastline," - said the director of the Boulevard, Irakli Jincharadze.
Several locations of Odessa and Chornomorsk coastal zone have already been given the "Blue Flag" sign. Representatives of the Batumi Boulevard were attended the Blue Flag awarding ceremony.
According to Irakli Jincharadze, the director of the boulevard, Ukraine has a good experience in developing private and public beaches. According to him, "Blue flag" is equally important and prestigious for both public and private sectors. Consequently, for successful implementation of the project, joint efforts and cooperation are needed.
