A public presentation of the concept of arrangement of infrastructure adapted for disabled people in the Batumi Boulevard was held, which included detailed information about adapted infrastructure projects to be implemented in 2019.
The event was attended by representatives of Adjara government, local public organizations, the Organization of the Deaf Union, Coalition for Independent Living and persons with disabilities. To guests invited to the event were provided full information about the future adaptation of the boulevard.
From 2019, the Boulevard administration plans to arrange beach wooden paths, showers and changing rooms on the coastline. Also, the arrangment of adapted toilets and children's attractions are planned. Next year, ramp will be installed in the sea for people using wheelchairs, where PWDS persons will be able to enter the sea independently.
Within the framework of the meeting, the presentation and review of project sketching options was discussed. The aim of the meeting was to promote inclusive tourism and involvement of PWDS persons in the construction and design process. At the end of the presentation, the film was screened (My Left Foot 1990). The event was organized by LEPL "Batumi Boulevard".
