If we consider the historical alleys of the boulevard with its characteristic tree-plants, we will certainly meet laurels along with magnolias, palm trees and pines. The alley of shaped laurels adjoins the central alleys and adds even more greenery and linearity to them. In the historical alley, 70 decorative laurel bushes are associated with the development of the boulevard during the Soviet period.
General information: Laurel - (Laurus) a representative of the laurel family, an evergreen dioecious tree, whose homeland is the Mediterranean Sea. Two types of laurel are known - Laurel Noble (Laurus Nobilis) and Canary Laurel - (Laurus Canariensis). The plant is less demanding and easily adapts to all types of soil. Propagated by seeds, cuttings and root shoots. Laurel Noble adapts well to pruning and shaping. Bay leaves and twigs are widely used in cooking, medicine and perfumery, both dried and raw. In historical sources, the laurel tree is mentioned as a symbol of glory, victory and wealth.
