Batumi Boulevard plans to engage in ‘’Blue Flag’’ international project

One of the most well-known organizations in the world of environmental protection "Environmental Education Foundation" was interested in Georgia.

By the invitation of the Batumi Boulevard, the Executive Director of the Foundation Daniel Shafer held an informational meeting in Batumi, which was attended by representatives of Adjara government, NGOs and education system and students.

The Chairman of the Government of Adjara participated in the event. Tornike Rizvadze addressed the guests and noted that supporting of education in the field of ecology and environmental protection is one of the priorities. According to him, the Government of Adjara is ready to pay great attention to the certification process of the "blue flag", that will provide sustainable development of the region.

The 73 countries, tens of public, private and non-governmental organizations are members of the Environmental Education Foundation (FEE). In the modern world FEE represented by 5 educational projects.(ECO-SCHOOLS, Young Reporters for the Environment, Learning About Forests, BLUE FLAG, GREEN KEY), which serve the creation of an ecologically safe environment, the protection of natural resources and the sustainable development of the environment.

Associated with high quality of the environment, the project "Blue Flag" is envisaged the approximation to modern standards of beach infrastructure, ecology, education and safety.
